$300.00

Mixed media (acrylic paints, paper, sand, UV varnish) on cardboard + wooden frame

22 x 18 x 1” (framed)

This series “My City” is about the home place/ places for a person in the surrounding world. I made it from vintage paper, keeping in mind the colors and the characters of the cities I've been to, the cities I've been living in, and the places I consider to be my home places. Vintage papers are as fragile as memories. Sand is a metaphor for time and its fluidity. I used red sand from the Rub'al Khali desert. I discovered that desert sand has a silky, tender texture. What if the times are kind to us?
